The crew from the Great Jelly Roll Bash has been working hard since the beginning of the year to bring you something extra special. This year we’re still doing our annual Zoom Party on Jelly Roll Day (September 19th), but we’ve added a Summer Block Party, too! All starting with the Looking Glass Block instant download.
Our theme is star gazing, and we’ve built a fun quilting event around it. There’s even a little mystery involved, which is a challenge all on its own.
I went with my husband to OCTO two weekends ago, and I wore my block. Yes, really! The night before we left, I turned 3 of my blocks into a wrap-around skirt. Last night I was seam ripping part of it so I could add a little more fabric because sitting down was a bit uncomfortable. Apparently, I bought a pattern and then decided to do my own thing anyway. LOL!
I made a ton of test blocks trying to get my design just right. Why, because I may have written and sewn the wrong size not once, but twice. I might be a little crazy, but now I have a skirt and part of the quilt I’ll be making for the sew-along already finished.

We came up with three different quilt options that you can choose from. Of course, you’re welcome to do whatever you’d like, but these layouts will give you a good starting point. Each layout also includes the number of blocks you’ll need to make.
FYI: During Week 5 of the Block Party, we’ll be sharing even more layout options.
As for me, I’m currently making both Quilt 1 and Quilt 2.
