The Garden Star Series
One of my favorite creative traditions is the Garden Star Series. Every year, I release a new quilt pattern that builds upon this growing collection. Today, I’m thrilled to introduce the latest addition—Garden Star 7! This new design made its debut at QuiltCon, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally share it with you here. It is the perfect beginner quilt or a great pattern for your next quick make. Garden Star 7 includes three versatile sizes, giving quilters room to play and personalize.
A special detail I love? When you piece together multiple baby-size blocks, the pattern transforms, revealing what I like to call a “hidden pattern.” It’s a delightful surprise that adds a new layer of discovery to the design.

🌊 Teaching Garden Star 7 on the
Stitchin’ Heaven Cruise
I’m especially excited about this pattern and blog post because I’ll be teaching Garden Star 7 on an upcoming Stitchin’ Heaven Cruise! I still remember when Stitchin’ Heaven invited me to teach my very first class, Terracotta Fiori. That opportunity gave me the push I needed to step outside my comfort zone—and it ultimately sparked my journey into teaching.
Since then, quilting has become so much more than a passion. Talking about quilts, dreaming up new patterns, and sharing this love with fellow makers—this is my dream job. Every new opportunity reminds me how lucky I am to do what I love, and I’m deeply grateful. If you don’t have a lot of experience quilting, don’t worry! This pattern is the perfect beginner quilt, plus it is an easy make, so if you are a seasoned quilter, you can finish the quilt top over the week we will be on the water.
