It’s not my regular day to release a blog post (that’s Tuesday), but last week totally got away from me and I wanted to remind you that the countdown is on… You have 6 days to get your copy of the Garden Star 6 pattern and enter the giveaway for 8 half-yard cuts of Ginger fabric. So get it while the getting is good!
I have so much to be grateful for. The end of this year is going to be crazy full of deadlines, classes, and pop-up shops. Here is what I have going on for the end of this year:
- Made Bee – Terracotta Fiori class
- The Great Jelly Roll Bash
- Quilt Guild – Inflorescence Quilt class
- Make Modern – Pattern in September
- Stitchin Heaven – North Carolina travel
- The Rusty Barn – Tucson pop-up shop
- The Rusty Barn – Phoenix pop-up shop
But I digress. Today I really wanted to talk about my latest pattern, Garden Star 6, and the secret patterns you can create by using the series. That’s right, if you use multiple baby blocks you get a totally different look and feel.
How Multiple Baby Blocks Can Make a Different Quilt
- Four blocks make a quilt measuring 60″ x 60″.
- Nine baby blocks make a quilt measuring 90″ x 90″..
- Twelve baby blocks make a monster size quilt measuring 120″ x 120″.
The line I used for this quilt is Water by Ruby Star Society! This line is all blue. I am absolutely in love with it and this quilt. It might just be because of my roots in the Netherlands, but this quilt reminds me of Delft Blue. Water is one of their collaborative lines, meaning that each designer from Ruby Star designed one or two of the prints in the line. Can you guess which designer created the different prints? I got a few right: Rashida’s faces, Jen’s flowers, and Kimberly’s rainy clouds.
Finally, I did it!! I made one quilt using four baby quilt blocks.
You can get a quilt kit in Water to make one baby block, four baby blocks, or a throw-size quilt using one large block. Don’t you just love the fabrics?
Here are a few mockups where I used different baby blocks from the Garden Star Series and different fabric lines.
Good luck on the giveaway and I hope you have a wonderful quilty week!
