Moda Love Quilt – Finished At Last!

Just like the name, Moda Love Quilt, I truly loved creating this quilt! The process was surprisingly easy, even though it’s a generous 72”x72” in size. The magic lies in the half square triangles that make up the design – they come together so beautifully.

Big Mama Quilts let me quilt this quilt on her longarm

Now, this quilt holds a special place in my heart because it was quilted using a longarm. I have to confess, it’s been quite some time since I last used a longarm machine. My past three quilts were all quilted with my trusty domestic sewing machine, which I love and use frequently. However, there’s something about the precision and elegance of longarm quilting that I just adore. Every time I see the final product, I can’t help but think that quilts finished with a longarm have a certain charm and finesse that’s hard to match.

Working on this Moda Love Quilt was a delightful experience from start to finish. It reminded me of why I fell in love with quilting in the first place – the joy of seeing each piece come together, the satisfaction of completing a project, and the beauty of the finished quilt. Whether I’m using my domestic machine or a longarm, the love for quilting is what truly makes each quilt special.

Moda Love Quilt top finished and ready to quilt

Thank you Big Mama Quilts for letting me use your longarm to quilt this Moda Love Quilt.

Last year, I found this fabric by Cynthia Coulter at Be Sew Creative and got it for free because of their reward system. I instantly fell in love! I knew this would be the perfect material for all of my car accessories in addition to using Moda’s free design. Thank you Moda for this fabulous free pattern, and all your scrumptious designs!

The first car accessory project I worked on was a Bettle Bag, the second project was a Reversible Trash Bag, and most recently, I finished this Moda Love Quilt, but as a gal that loves working on different projects and gets lost in the possibilities, what shall I make next!? Another bag? quilts? jewelery? hmm….so many options…
