EEKkkk!! The Terracotta Fiori Quilt Along is right around the corner! 

I’m so happy to have you in the Quilt Along. I love meeting quilters who are new to my sew alongs — it warms my heart to see all the past sew along participants come back for more.

If you are undecided about joining us, you can read more about the two quilts I have already finished, Sea Glass and Terracotta, by clicking on the links. Here is a little more about what to expect.

The Terracotta Fiori Quilt is made up of four digital files: 

• Gradient Pattern and layout
• Random Pattern and layout 
• Paper Piecing Guide with tips on paper piecing 
• Coloring sheets to help you choose colors for your fabrics 

If you have any trouble downloading or printing the patterns, please let me know. I would be happy to walk you through the process. 

If you print both files out and get confused about which paper pages go to what pattern, just look at the bottom of the page. It has both the name on the bar and the pagination set. And no worries, both patterns use the same paper piecing templates. Just remember to print them out at 100% so you get the same size every time. There is a measuring key at the bottom of the templates to double-check that the size is right.

The majority of sewists preferred the October/November dates, so we are sticking to the original timeline. These are the key dates to remember:

Oct 8th – Picking our fabric
Oct 15th – Cutting Fabric
Oct 22nd – Paper Piecing Tips and Tricks
Oct 23rd – Zoom Sew Day – 9:30am to 1:30pm
Oct 29th – Catch Up
Nov 5th – Sewing Triangles Together and Putting Rows Together
Nov 7th – Zoom Sew Day – 9:30am to 1:30pm
Nov 12th – Sewing top together & Basting
Nov 19th – Quilting
Nov 26th – Binding

The Quilt Along Giveaways

There will be gifts!!

I will be choosing the winners on Instagram. Make sure your Instagram account is public for the duration of the Quilt Along. If it isn’t I won’t be able to see your photos… and if I can’t see your photos, I can’t choose you as a winner for one of the prizes. 

Feel free to make your account private again after the quilt along — therefore, the giveaways — has ended. If you have any trouble doing this please let me know I would be happy to help.

Use the #TerracottaFioriQA when posting your progress photos. With each new step, I will be choosing a new winner. To draw a name, I put all of your names from the photo shared on Instagram for that week in an excel spreadsheet and use a random generator to give me a number. I look for that number on the spreadsheet — that’s my winner.

For the grand prize winner, I will be looking at how many photos you posted and how often you commented on other people’s photos. I will assign points for each and add up all the points. The person who participated the most with both comments and photos will win.

I love community and I hope we all get to know each other and make a few more quiltie friends. Because talking about fabric, quilt projects, and those darn errors that happen after we measured twice… is so much fun and non-quilters just don’t get it. 

If you miss the beginning of the quilt along and want to join, you can. If life gets in the way of your progress, that’s ok too. You can work at your own pace. I will be giving you tips, and extra supporting content along the way.
