Say hello to my Take Flight Quilt, the third and last quilt from May’s rollout month. This quilt features fabric from Jack and the Beanstalk designed by me, Elisabeth DeMoo. This block has been on my mind for about a year. I’ve had this urge to create something with it. I first used it on a pillowcase I made for the Giving Challenge, but that wasn’t enough. While doodling, I came up with the idea of ‘taking flight’. Think of a flock of birds on the move slowing forming a “V” in the sky. I feel this quilt captures that essence of that freedom. To create this quilt I used half square triangles, which I’ve become totally obsessed with. I think you will find this quilt fast and easy to make.
Since Jack and the Beanstalk rollout month has now come to an end, I’d like to take you through a small recap of all the projects that were made in May. I started the month off with a Mommy and me jewelry set. Then moved along with Vines a quilt pattern, the first quilt of the month. Next was a quirky Golden Hen Rattle. Which paved the way to a Garden Star quilt designed exclusively for this fabric. Halfway through the journey I fought with zippers when making a diaper clutch which left me dreaming of screen printing onesies something I look forward to doing in the future. I had so much fun making and sharing all these projects with y’all.
This Take Flight quilt will be gifted to one of my best friends from high school. She just had a baby girl so this is a quilt is for you, Adelaide.
Thank you so much for visiting my blog, hope you’ll be back soon! Tell me which project was your favorite in the comments below.
