Are you ready to embark on a creative journey that will touch your heart? In the world of quilting where the quilt block is queen, Block Mania is everything. As we dive into this month’s theme and 28 quilt bocks centered around making, let’s explore how we can make each quilt block with heartfelt intentions. I have a very special block for you, a hand quilt block which represents every type of making. This is my Made with Love quilt block.
For my fabrics I used Ruby Star Society. Don’t you just love the floral background fabric?? And this grey is my new obsession. The free quilt block consists of many pieces, and they are all pieced together traditionally. Surprisingly the block comes together quickly. Whether you are an experienced quilter or a novice expanding your skills this quilt block is for you.
The Made with Love quilt block is 12 ½” and you can add it to a quilt with many different blocks, a sampler quilt. Or add it to the back of the quilt in place of a quilt label. By adding an extra strip to the bottom and / or top of the block you can write on the block with a fabric marker and add a special message. Here is an example of what you can write on as a label. Click here to get the text I used so you can use to make a label of your own. Keep reading until the end to see how I turned the quilt block into a label.
Making what we do intentional, inspiring & healing
Quilt blocks have a rich history that dates back centuries, Sampler quits are a perfect way to tell a story. By adding your favorite colors and choosing block patterns that speak to you are able to encapsule something special and meaningful. With each cut, iron burn, every single stitch we are able to pour love, gratitude and even prayers for the intended quilt recipient. I diffidently do this often but never as much as the quilt I made for my mom called Healing Hands on Heart. Made with lots of prayers and well wishes. I even roped my nieces in nephews into the process and had them dip their hands in paint and place their hands on the finished quilt.
My love for quilting is rooted in the way a quilt makes me feel. The comfort and warmth of the quilt snuggle hugs you and whispers you are loved.
February has came & went you can now get the
