1 Million Pillowcase Challenge

1 Million Pillowcase Challenge

This is the first (and second) week of my giving challenge and it has come and gone in a flash. I have been crazy busy brainstorming, designing and creating. There are so many things to finish and have been working on all of them at the same time. I feel like a complete mess and I have accomplished a lot but still have very little to show. But I have a ace up my sleeve, enter the 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge.

To get the ball rolling on the giving challenge check it, I think I will give you a small taste of what I have been working on, PILLOWCASES. A lot of pillowcases. That has been my main focus for week #2. American Patchwork and Quilting has a 1 Million Pillowcase Challenge. Their dream is to brighten a world, one pillowcase at a time. What I found out this year is that local shops are participating in this challenge and they will take your pillowcases somewhere that needs them. This really helps. I made 10 pillowcases 2 years ago and I had a little trouble deciding where to donate them and never got around to submitting my donations to the challenge website but did give them to a women’s shelter.

So far, I have four to show you. What do you think? Which design is your favorite?? Mine is Jagged edge but I all so love the Candy Cane edge.

Why pillowcases?? In times where kids or grownups have to flee a situation quickly pillowcases often become as a place to put personal items in that is why this challenge is so important.
