Car Trash Bag DIY

Yippie! a new car!

This time around I made a promise to myself that I wouldn’t let this car be as messy as my last one.

To help me with this goal, I plan on making a series of accessories for the car. One of the items I’ve handmade is a trash bag that you can hang on the passenger headrest for easy access. It’s reversible, easy to clean (because of its vinyl finish) and super cute! This is a link to my pattern.

In this post I used Garden Project from Tim and Beck. I absolutely love all of the fruit. I can’t wait to create more projects with this design.

Do you give permission to make these items for sale (home based scale)?

I would need some more details to give you permission for this. Thanks.

Love this and I’m dying to make one, but I’m a slow visual leaner and totally confused. When do you turn the bag right side out? I understand you put the inside fabric inside of the outside fabric, pin and sew the raw edges together. If you sew the wrong edges together how do you turn the bag right side out? It’s probably very simple but I’m having a hard time visualizing that.

I am so sorry for the confusion… Both the inside fabric and the outside fabric right sides are showing. (meaning the seams face each other) Click here to view a larger image of this step. We are going to finish the raw edge with another piece of fabric that folds over the raw edge like a large piece of quilt binding. Click here to see a larger image of this step. If you prefer the inside fabric you don’t have to turn the bag inside out because it is reversible. I hope this makes sense. Please let me know if you have anymore question. Perhaps this might be a good project for me do make a video on.
